Blah
Ahh... here we are today and i'm still living out of a suitcase... i'm so ready for life to return to normal... God forbid I ever say I was ready to go back to class and work lol... Anywho... just saying hey. Take Care, Chance | | Tuesday, September 27th, 2005 | | 12:25 pm |
Went by town.
Yesterday my girlfriend and I took a ride in Lake Charles and Sulphur to check up on some homes and what not. I must say it is horrible. Almost every tree is snapped at some point and hanging over. Almost every poewr line has some sort of damage to it. Signs are missing and some roadways are actually not usable for the time being. But on the plus side all of our homes seem to be ok. My apartment had some signs of possible flood damage on the outside of the building but I couldn't get in enough to see if there was any. Anyhow.. I must be on my way you guys please take care. Chance. | | Sunday, September 25th, 2005 | | 9:04 pm |

Rita
Well well, it looks as though we are in for it again. This time however, i’m not so lucky. Of course most of you know I’m in Lake Charles which is in the southwest corner of LA and it looks as though we’re ganna get some of the Rita wrath. Normally I would at this point be heading home which is in central Louisiana but, I have a hard head girlfriend who doesn’t want to leave therefore I’m going to rough it out and help take care of the three houses they have here and her grandparents. (Since her parents are on vacation and aren’t going to make it back.) Any how, if any of you are interested in getting in contact with me you can reach me at 337-287-0000 (work cell) 337-580-1844(personal cell). I must be running along now to move stuff indoors. You all take care. Chance. Current Mood: drained | | Friday, September 9th, 2005 | | 10:02 pm |
Blah, blah...
First off, if any of you have done anything to help out the gulf coast region I would like to take this time to thank you. Secondly, I would like to take a moment to bitch, piss, and moan. I’m sick and tired of everyone trying to point fingers here and there. Sure, relief efforts have been going sluggish, but quite frankly the people of New Orleans are going to get what they deserve. You don’t shoot at people who are trying to rescue you. Now, the whole superdome situation where all these people are supposedly being left there to die because they’re ‘black.’ That’s bullshit, and I can’t believe that some of these ‘black power groups’ are sinking this low to claim racism. Since, all the relief efforts are pretty much controlled by the Governor and Mayor’s requests I have to say it’s somewhat bogus. The Mayor of New Orleans is ‘black’ so is some 60% of the population and a majority of the local seats in the area are held by African Americans. So, IMO claiming racism is pretty stupid. Not to mention being negative to people who are helping you pretty much prompts people to stop helping you. Even people around here are getting chewed out by evacuees who claim ‘we aren’t helping them.’ Now for the claims that the federal response was ‘to slow’ I do recall disaster declerations being signed BEFORE the storm hit. The state and local governments here are pointing the finger at the federal government only to keep themselves from getting a lynching. For quite some time they knew that the levees would not hold up past a Cat 3 storm but they neglected to put funds into fixing the problem. For about 4 day they knew New Orleans was going to be hit pretty bad but just not how bad it would be yet they formed no plans to take care the storm battered region afterwards. They knew the city would flood, yet they still put residents into the superdome instead of getting them out, not smart. Although, I have to say on behalf of the city there that busses were made available for those who wanted to leave before the storm hit. Previous to the storms landfall city officials went around the city on loudspeakers telling people where to go to evacuate, but they just didn’t listen. Anywho, back to bitchin the mayor however was warned by the head of NOAA (or whatever its called) 12-15 hours earlier that he needed to give a mandatory evacuation for the city, but instead the mayor puts it off as I said until 12 or so hours later. Going back in time, we had National guardsman, Entergy workers, Red Cross workers, etc… all housed in complexes around here prepared to move in after the storm made landfall. My question is why didn’t the governor have truckloads of supplies ready, I’ll tell you why because she’s incompetent. Not to mention that the troops were there but as you all should know federal troops cannot be deployed for policing unless requested by the GOVERNOR so all the troops there could do was rescue missions meanwhile the city is falling into chaos (just as nightmare cities ;) ahh we’re all ganna be pk on soon!). Trucks of supplies finally did respond and they were turned back because ‘they didn’t want the people in the city to mooch around they wanted them to leave and promised that the busses were coming’ as you know the busses never came cough hack… people began to starve. Anywho… I’m sick of bitchin now so I’ll just move on. Life is pretty sucky for lots around here since a majority of businesses in the area receive their supplies out of NO. On the plus side Zarek and I, as well as our families, are safe as Coren noted but I doubt any of you cared. Anywho, I must be running along now you all take care and be safe. And as usual, things aren’t as bad as the news media is putting them out to be. Take Care, Chance Current Mood: annoyed | | Thursday, June 16th, 2005 | | 10:33 pm |

Howdy
Well well… It appears Sir Robin as though my account still exists. Its been quite some time, I must say, since I have spoken to many of you. Zarek and I have recently moved out on our own *sobs* (sucks to be away from home when your parents did everything), but it is a nice change though. Anywho, we now live in Lake Charles, Louisiana (just incase you wanna look it up on the map). I have to say though even though my hometown is only about an hour and a half away…. The people here are just like so different… they’re almost … uh… Texans ;)… Anyways, Zarek is addicted to World of Warcraft and now that Nightmare is dead and I lost my addiction to WOW its pretty sucky when I have nothing to do hehe…. Well… guess I should go unpack my groceries before they defrost… if any of you care to come by for a visit someday just let us know ahead of time so we can make plans… Take care Chance. | | Sunday, August 1st, 2004 | | 3:08 pm |
you are aquamarine #7FFFD4 | Your dominant hues are cyan and green. Although you definately strive to be logical you care about people and know there's a time and place for thinking emotionally. Your head rules most things but your heart rules others, and getting them to meet in the middle takes a lot of your energy some days.
Your saturation level is medium - You're not the most decisive go-getter, but you can get a job done when it's required of you. You probably don't think the world can change for you and don't want to spend too much effort trying to force it.
Your outlook on life is very bright. You are sunny and optimistic about life and others find it very encouraging, but remember to tone it down if you sense irritation.
